Geaorge Hanna made ouds in Syria until 1950 or so. George Abdo Nahat was the last builder of the family. His ouds were big and ornate, but still had that unique Nahat tone. The earliest one known was made in 1928, the last in 1983 came from Brazil. Because of the overlap of these cousins, which oud is attributed to whom is uncertain.
